Josh Allen is the highest drafted quarterback in Buffalo Bills history. He is acclimating himself well to the sports-crazed culture of Western New York.

The Bills hope that Allen will be the face of their franchise for the next 15 years. On Friday night, the NHL’s Buffalo Sabres acquired a player who could potentially be the face of their franchise. The Sabres selected defenseman Rasmus Dahlin with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 NHL Draft.

After the Sabres selected Dahlin, Allen took to Twitter to welcome him to Buffalo. In the same tweet, Allen created a new fan movement: #SabresMafia.

Welcome to Buffalo @rasmusdahlin00! Can’t wait to watch you play, wings on me later this summer. #LetsGoBuffalo
Is #SabresMafia a thing? It is now.

The two franchises are linked by their ownership. Pegula Sports and Entertainment owns both teams.

Both Allen and Dahlin bring a sense of excitement and hope to the Western New York professional sports scene. While the Bills did break their 17-year playoff drought last year, there was a reason to believe that the overachievement of this roster could not be sustained. Thus, Buffalo moves forward with their eventual franchise quarterback. The Sabres have now found their cornerstone blueliner.
