Rochester Red Wings pitcher Jose Berrios has been named the Batavia Downs Gaming and Racetrack Player of the Week for the period of August 29-Sept. 5.
Berrios started the Aug. 31 home game against Syracuse, and allowed two runs in the first inning. He proceeded to work his way through the Chiefs lineup and racked up 14 strikeouts in eight innings pitched. His 125 strikeouts in 111.1 innings pitched was tops on the Wings pitching staff.
