The operators of the Jewish Home in Brighton broke ground today for an $83 million project that reflects both the changing needs of Monroe County’s elderly, and their rapidly increasing numbers.
They’re building a trio of three-story housing projects, each floor containing what amount to several small homes plus a common dining area. Once it’s finished the existing Jewish Home will be rebuilt along the same lines.
Jewish Senior Life manager Susan Price says the aging today want to stay independent as long as they can and this type of housing is increasingly in demand.
