The New York Attorney General’s Office and the state’s Consumer Financial Protection Bureau have signed an $11 million settlement with Sterling Jewelers, the owners of Kay Jewelers, Jared and the Galleria of Jewelry.

 

The Companies are accused of signing customers up for store credit cards without their knowledge, telling them they were being signed up for reward or discount programs. Sterling employees were given a monthly quota of credit card enrollments they had to meet.
