BUFFALO — The Winnipeg Jets ended a three-game losing streak with a 3-1 win against the Buffalo Sabres at KeyBank Center on Sunday.

Andrew Copp, Blake Wheeler and Mark Scheifele scored, and Connor Hellebuyck made 35 saves for Winnipeg (35-18-3).

Jack Eichel scored, and Carter Hutton made 26 saves for Buffalo (27-21-7) in his first start since Feb. 1.

The Sabres failed to win consecutive games for the eighth straight time (0-7-1) and have not won two in a row since Dec. 11 and 13. They are 4-7-1 in their past 12 games.

Copp scored shorthanded on a breakaway to give Winnipeg a 1-0 lead at 3:01 of the second period. Buffalo defenseman Rasmus Dahlin couldn’t keep the puck in at the blue line, and Copp took advantage to score the Jets’ seventh shorthanded goal of the season.

Eichel tied it 1-1 from the right face-off circle at 12:01, four seconds after a Sabres power play expired.

The Jets kept the Sabres hemmed in their own end and scored when Wheeler received a pass from Josh Morrissey at the right side of the net and made it 2-1 with 3:55 left in the third period.

Scheifele scored into an empty net with 6.5 seconds remaining for the 3-1 final.
