The Jesuit Order has released a list of former teachers at Catholic schools who have been accused of sexually abusing minors, and the list of those who once taught at McQuaid Jesuit High School in Rochester is now seven.
School officials previously announced that two teachers were known to be on the list of abusers.
The Jesuits say the teachers were at McQuaid in the 1950s and 1960s, with one there in the 70s. According to research by the “Democrat and Chronicle,” one of the teachers admitted abusing minors at McQuaid in the 60s while teaching history and religion. Leonard Riforgiato reportedly admitted to the abuse.
McQuaid had previously said it had not received any credible claims of the accused priests sexually abusing minors while at the school.
