Federal prosecutors have charged a Jamaican man with visa fraud.
They say Roger Garfield Campbell applied for a visa to enter the United States nearly three years ago, and provided false information to the consulate staff that interviewed him. Specifically, he failed to mention his criminal history in the United Kingdom, where he was convicted of drug trafficking charges and served prison time. That made him ineligible to enter this country.
Campbell overstayed his visa and settled in Rochester. The Department of Homeland Security located him here and he was arrested. He’s being held without bail.
