Since reviewing “Star Wars” in 1977, Jack Garner was an award-winning critic and reporter for the Democrat and Chronicle and the Gannett News Service. Now his voice is stilled.
Garner died Sunday at the age of 75.
Garner spent more than 30 years at the Gannett Rochester Newspapers, starting with the old Times-Union and moving to the D&C. He also did film reviews for 13 WHAM News, and was much sought after for his views on issues relating to the film industry and media.
Garner died peacefully at home.
