After spinning off its business services division as the new Conduent Corporation this week, Xerox is signalling a return to its document technology roots with the return of “Brother Dominic.”
The character of the little monk who had the abbot exclaiming “It’s a miracle!” debuted at the Super Bowl 40 years ago. Back then, Brother Dominic used a Xerox copier to reproduce his manuscripts. In the updated version, he signs onto an Internet-connected Xerox print station where he translates, personalizes and shares his work with people all over the earth.
Xerox’s chief marketing officer says the tagline is “set the page free,” showing the progression from the 20th to the 21st Centuries.
