Federal prosecutors have charged an Irondequoit man with constantly calling and texting his ex-girlfriend over a two-year period, making an escalating series of threats against her and members of her family.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office says Theodore Loria had been under investigation by the FBI for more than a year. They say he used eight different cell phones to send her threatening text messages after he and the woman broke up over his becoming protective and jealous. The victim notified the FBI about the threatening messages in 2016, saying she believed the sender was Loria because of the way they were written.

Court papers say Loria also confronted the victim’s ex-boyfriend in a parking lot and parked at the end of the victim’s driveway when she would walk her daughter to school.
