The Town of Irondequoit now has a temporary Department of Public Works set up in the shuttered Helen McGraw Library on East Ridge Road. It replaces the DPW garage destroyed by fire on Christmas Eve along with nine of the town’s heavy plow trucks.

Supervisor Dave Seeley says equipment borrowed from other towns in Monroe and Wayne Counties should begin arriving  Wednesday morning, and then they’ll be ready to get back in business.

Seeley says they’re glad there wasn’t a snowstorm going on the night the garage burned. The borrowed snow removal equipment is arriving just in time, with more snow in the forecast later this week.
