The Towns of Irondequoit, Webster and Penfield have reissued their state of emergency declarations for high water on Lake Ontario.
Irondequoit Supervisor Dave Seeley’s office says the lake is still about nine inches above flood levels according to the Army Corps of Engineers’ estimate. The water is expected to recede by about a foot over the coming month. The Seeley says Irondequoit will reassess in 30 days and decide if the emergency order needs to continue.
Among other things, it orders speed restrictions for boaters on Irondequoit Bay and near shore on Lake Ontario to avoid erosion damage from boat wakes.
