The Irondequoit Police Officer charged by federal prosecutors with stalking and trying to break into a secured computer system has been denied bail.

Officer William Rosica was arraigned in federal court in Rochester today. He’s accused of carrying out a nearly year-long campaign of harassment against his ex-girlfriend, flooding her with emails, texts and phone calls. He allegedly tried to break into her work email and computer systems, and also harassed her ex-husband and co-workers.

Prosecutor Melissa Marangola says a law enforcement official described this as a “pattern of conduct” and that Rosica had a prior victim.

Paperwork filed by the prosecution details how he got around attempts to block his messages and says many of the messages were threatening and used foul language.

Rosica remains in Custody.
