An Irondequoit police officer has resigned after an incident at an East End Rochester bar.
Jason Hughes was off duty at the time, according to the IPD. The incident took place at the Temple Bar on East Avenue, and according to Town Supervisor Dave Seeley, Hughes used a racial epithet during an altercation. Seeley said that was out of line with the values of the department and the town.
The town is investigating the matter.
Hughes was suspended for a year after becoming involved in a bar fight in 2011. He was acquitted of charges from that incident and reinstated to the force.
