The State of Emergency has finally been lifted in the Town of Irondequoit — first issued in May when high water levels were threatening the coastline along Lake Ontario and Irondequoit Bay.

Now that the water level has gone down, Irondequoit officials say they’ve conferred with Penfield and Webster, and all three towns will finally drop the emergency declarations which enforced slow speeds on the bay and near-shore waters.

The emergency declarations are being lifted as Monroe County prepares to swing the Irondequoit Outlet Bridge across the bay outlet for the winter, meaning the end of boating season.
