Supervisor Dave Seeley has signed a declaration continuing his town’s State of Emergency, first declared May 12th when Lake Ontario began flooding shoreline properties.
Seeley says a State of Emergency remains in effect for 30 days unless rescinded or extended. He says the water levels on Lake Ontario have only come down by about an inch since the record high last month. The risk of flooding continues whenever north winds blow.
Seeley has also re-issued the order to boaters to keep speeds to minimum on Irondequoit Bay to avoid wake damage and erosion to the shore. The orders remain in effect until the lake and the bay are no longer and flood level.
