The International League has set a March 1 deadline for an assurance from Monroe County and the Rochester Red Wings that the team will be playing at Frontier Field this year.

Without that assurance, the league will plan for the Red Wings to play their home games in another city.

League President Randy Mobely says the two sides can either work out a new long term deal, or agree to extend the expired lease for at least a year, or the county can submit a signed guarantee that the team will have access to Frontier Field in an uninterrupted manner.

Red Wings CEO Naomi Silver says she’s confident they can get a ten year agreement.
