The International Lake Ontario – St. Lawrence River Board says today it’s continuing to hold the outflow from Lake Ontario at more than 367,000 cubic feet per second, the maximum it says it can do without risking flooding along the St. Lawrence River.

After another telephone meeting on the Lake Ontario flooding situation, the board agreed to leave the outflow from the Moses-Saunders dam at the current level, which is considerably more than called for under the controversial Plan 2014 regulations.

They say it will still take several more weeks at this level to produce a noticeable lowering of Lake Ontario, which has been flooding the southern shoreline areas whenever the winds blow from the north.
