Ellis PhotoA 29-year-old Nunda woman is in jail after a string of incidents involving threats to a person she’d been ordered to stay away from.

Amber Ellis was first arrested by Nunda police on a criminal mischief charge last week. A judge issued a stay-away order of protection for the victim of that incident. But the next day, Ellis allegedly called the victim and made more threats.

This time, the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office arrested her for criminal contempt and aggravated harassment.
Sheriff Tom Dougherty says Ellis then saw the protected party while being driven back to jail and began screaming obscenities at the victim while in the sheriff’s transport vehicle. That meant more charges and another trip to court before she was delivered back to jail.
