A woman was shot and killed while out hunting Sunday in Caledonia. The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office says it happened off West River Road near the Genesee River while a group of five hunters was out together.
The victim’s name hasn’t been released yet. Authorities say she was shot in the stomach and was pronounced dead after being brought to Strong Memorial Hospital. They haven’t said how the accident happened.
New York’s Department of Environmental Conservation says this is the third fatal deer hunting accident in the state this firearms season.
