A Rochester Housing Authority employee is facing federal charges following an investigation into a scheme to defraud the Authority.
The U.S. Attorney’s office for the Western District of NY says 58-year-old Janis White has been charged with defrauding and conspiring to defraud the Rochester Housing Charities or R-H-C, and with obstructing the government’s investigation. Federal prosecutors say White worked as the Executive Secretary for the Director of the Housing Authority, and before that as the Board Secretary for the R-H-C.
Prosecutors say White also controlled H-J-J Property, a business owned by her parents, and allegedly used her position to have that company paid for work that was never performed…in the amount of $90,000.
