Demolition crews were called in early this morning after fire destroyed a house at 137 Saratoga Avenue in Rochester.
The fire was reported shortly after 12:20 Tuesday morning, and firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke and fire from the rear of the house, with a potential of it spreading to the neighboring house. The fire was extinguished without spreading, and firefighters searched the burned-out building and found nothing.
The house was vacant, and and been the scene of a previous fire in December, so the decision was made to take it down.
The cause remains under investigation.
