A fire that started in a machinery room forced the evacuation of the Microtel Inn on Chili Avenue early Sunday morning. About 75 people were forced out of their rooms.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says the fire was reported about midnight and started in an elevator motor that burned out. The reason is under investigation.
