After parts of Monroe County were declared a COVID-19 orange zone by the state, Rochester’s two major health care groups are imposing visitor restrictions at Rochester-area hospitals.

Rochester Regional Health has already suspended visitor access to Rochester General and its other hospitals around the region. UR Medicine says it will do the same for Strong and Highland Hospitals. The regulation is already in effect at Highland, and the visitor ban begins at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday for Strong Memorial.

Exceptions will include pediatric patients, childbirth and end of life issues.
