Rochester police have been investigating a homicide on Karnes Street since early Wednesday morning.
Police were called to the scene about 12:45 a.m. for a report of a person shot. They found the victim, a man in his 30s, with a gunshot wound to his upper body. An ambulance crew performed lifesaving measures, but was unable to revive him and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
This is the 39th homicide of the year for Rochester.
