It was “masks back on” for people riding mass transit and entering airports across New York State after a decision Tuesday by Governor Kathy Hochul.
RTS reversed course on masks Wednesday morning and said they would still be required on RTS transit buses and in the Transit Center downtown. The Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport also decided to keep requiring masks.
Hochul says State Health Department officials are still reviewing COVID numbers and says this is a temporary measure, but she wants to keep everyone as safe from the pandemic as possible.
