A Hilton Central School District principal who stands accused of sexually abusing a number of his students has resigned.
Under an agreement with the district, Kirk Ashton will get payments for his accumulated vacation time and sick days, plus five months of salary.
Ashton was principal of Northwood Elementary School. He was accused of abusing nine young boys in his schools, but authorities say more than 20 victims have now come forward.
The separation agreement was approved Tuesday night by the Hilton School Board
