The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office has charged a Hilton man with passing counterfeit money, after he used a fake $100 bill to pay a pizza delivery man.

A spokesman says the Sheriff’s Office has investigated five separate incidents of counterfeit money being passed this month. In each incident a $100 or a $20 bill was passed. Each bill was marked “FOR MOTION PICTURE USE ONLY.”

In the case of the pizza delivery, the driver quickly became suspicious and called 911. Deputies charged 20-year-old Tyler Ragin of Hilton with possession of a forged instrument and petit larceny. He’s currently free on $1,000 bail.

Deputies are advising people to keep an eye on the money that comes through their hands and call 911 if you run into one of these bills.
