Sibley Bldg ConstructionHigh Tech of Rochester has gotten $2.6 million in federal Economic Development Administration funding to help build its new business accelerator downtown.

Both Senator Charles Schumer and Congresswoman Louise Slaughter say the federal money is in the pipeline. High Tech will use it and other funding  to establish a business development program on the sixth floor of the Sibley Building. It’s intended to spur the development and growth of up to 24 new businesses based on technologies developed in Rochester.

The purpose behind getting new businesses started and helping them to expand is new jobs for the region…and also to serve as a prime anchor tenant for the newly-renovated Sibley Building.
