One of the biggest fans of the Hickey Freeman suit says that Rochester company will be expanding…and adding 50 new jobs.
United States Senator Chuck Schumer was at the factory on North Clinton Avenue this morning, announcing with company officials that Hickey Freeman will be producing a new line of tailored clothing for Trunk Club. That’s a subscription clothing service that puts together customized outfits for subscribers and ships them to the home.
Hickey Freeman is already producing suits, pants and jackets for Trunk Club. They’re bringing in new production equipment with the new contract and have already hired 15 new workers.
Hickey Freeman has been operating since 1899 in Rochester. It’s the last of what used to be a substantial clothing industry in the Flower City.
