A National Guard Blackhawk helicopter made an emergency landing this afternoon on the Chili Country Club golf course.
The UH-60 helicopter was on a training mission when it suffered a cracked windshield at de-icing system problems. The crew decided their safest option was to land the aircraft as soon as possible, and the country club’s 9th hole was right in front of them.
A Guard spokesman says it looks like all the correct procedures were followed. They;re evaluating the aircraft to see if it will be repaired in place or if it can safely be flown back to base.
