The Monroe County Department of Public Health has closed the Golden Ponds Restaurant and Party House on Long Pond Road in Greece. Spokesman John Ricci says the department is investigating what caused a number of people to get sick after eating there on Thanksgiving Day.
As many as 60 may have been affected.
Ricci says they were lucky to be able to get samples of the food that was actually served that day, and they’ve been sent to a state lab for testing along with samples taken from the people who felt ill. It will take a week or two before the results come back.
They’re also checking if anyone who came to the restaurant that day was sick, or if any of the food workers was feeling sick and didn’t take proper precautions.
