Rochester police officers on patrol heard multiple gunshots about 6:00 this morning in the area of Hudson Avenue and Ernst Street, and they observed a vehicle fleeing from the scene.
Police gave chase, and the vehicle crashed into a tree and the corner of Rosemary and Ferncliff Drives. They found it occupied by a 28-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman, both city residents. Both were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
While this was going on, a 33-year-old city man arrived at Rochester General Hospital suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body. He is under treatment and is expected to survive.
The entire incident remains under investigation.
