Two Rochester-area men tried to go through TSA screening at the Greater Rochester International Airport yesterday with guns in their carry-on bags.
A Hemlock man and a Newark, Wayne County, man were found to have guns in separate incidents that occurred several hours apart. One gun was loaded, the other wasn’t. Both were spotted by the airport X-ray machines.
Monroe County Deputies confiscated both weapons.
Passengers with carry permits can bring their guns…but they have to be unloaded, stowed in checked luggage and declared to the airline before you arrive. Bringing a gun to the TSA screening line will get the firearm confiscated and may leave the owner facing charges and up to a $12,000 fine.
