Irondequoit Police say shots were fired between two vehicles on East Ridge Road, killing one person and sending another to the hospital.
Police say 911 calls began coming in about 2:20 p.m. about gunfire on East Ridge. Police Chief Richard Tantalo says someone in another vehicle fired at a minivan, killing a passenger and wounding the driver, who is expected to recover. They aren’t sure if the gunfire was one way or shots were exchanged between both vehicles.
The van came to a stop in a Mavis Tire store parking lot. A witness reported hearing more than a dozen shots and screeching tires. The victims haven’t yet been identified.
