Since last weekend, shots have been fired into seven Rochester homes, and two people have been hit and wounded. Solving that problem, according to Rochester’s Mayor, Malik Evans, will be a two-pronged job.

Evans says it starts with people being willing to come forward and tell police what they’ve seen and experienced so investigators have the information they need to find the criminals. Second, police must continue their efforts to find and interdict the stream of illegal handguns coming into the city.

Police say some of the gunfire into houses may have been random, but some was targeted. Police say anyone who has Ring doorbell footage of these incidents should send it to them anonymously.
