An event at a club in Pittsford held in memorial for a gunshot victim ended in gunfire early this morning.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called to Taylor’s Nightclub on Monroe Avenue at about 12:30 a.m. for a reported fight. Deputies found more fights breaking out as they arrived, and soon learned a man had been taken to Highland Hospital after being grazed in the head by a bullet. Deputies say the man told them he was shot outside the club. The victim is recovering.
Deputies say charges are pending in connection with the fight.
Social media posts on both Twitter and Facebook indicate the club was open Sunday night for a memorial to Brandon Spears, the young man shot and killed at the downtown Rochester Radisson a year ago.
Luis Arroyo was charged with second degree manslaughter and possession of a weapon for firing the shot, which ricocheted off the floor and hit Spears.
