Two men who drove after another car while one of them fired shots at it have been arrested. Rochester police say they uncovered the incident when they were called to Backus and Bloss Streets on the West Side for a report of menacing.
On the way to the call, they came across a car that had crashed into a house. The driver of that car reported he was being chased by another car, and the people in it had shot at him.
A short time later, police located and stopped that second car on Dewey Avenue. The front seat passenger ran, at which time he dropped a .40 caliber Glock handgun loaded with 15 rounds. Officers and a K9 unit chased him down and took him into custody. the driver was taken into custody without incident. Both were taken to the county jail pending arraignment.
The man who fled was identified as 21-year-old Vincent Montague. He’s charged with criminal possession of a weapon. The driver, 20-year-old Masir Shine, is the man accused of shooting at the victim prior to his crash into the house. He’s charged with criminal possession of a weapon and criminal use of a firearm.
