Three Rochester residents have pleaded guilty to charges of kidnapping a federal employee, after they took a postal carrier hostage when they failed to receive a package of cocaine.

Federal prosecutors say the postal carrier had just delivered a package to Mark Rogers, 38, Joseph Way, 36, and Tashara Levans, 37. They expected it to contain cocaine, but it didn’t. Deciding the postal carrier must have stolen it, the three chased her down and forced her into their car. They drove her around the city, threatening to kill her and her family if they didn’t get their drugs.

Eventually the victim was released unharmed, and postal inspectors and Rochester police tracked down the suspects.

They’ll be sentenced on April 11th.
