A Rochester man has pleaded guilty in the death of liquor store owner Charlotte Lahr, who was beaten to death during a robbery at Char’s Wine and Liquor on South Avenue earlier this year.

Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley says 60-year-old Kevin Quander will serve 36-years-to life in prison for robbery and murder, which effectively means he’ll spend the rest of his life behind bars.

Quander had just been released on parole in January before he robbed Char’s Wine and Liquor at knifepoint in March, then beat Charlotte Lahr to death with a wine bottle. He previously served two sentenced for robbery.
