The Rochester goalie’s injury has not dampened his spirits.

Rochester, N.Y. — Rochester Rhinos goalkeeper Adam Grinwis will attempt an incredible feat, to kick a soccer ball over the Genesee River.

Grinwis has been sidelined in recent weeks due to an injury, but that hasn’t impacted his spirits. In fact, Grinwis is so excited for the first round of the USL Cup playoffs to begin on Saturday that he will attempt to kick a ball over the Genesee River.

At 1:00 p.m. on Friday afternoon, Adam Grinwis will head over to the Genesee Brew House where he will attempt to clear the massive body of water. Should he be successful, the Rhinos will release a special offer to fans for Saturday’s home playoff match.

“I am excited for playoffs to begin and I hope Rochester is excited with me. I’m pretty confident I can send the ball over. I’ve been training specifically for this difficult performance and even got a few pointers from Coach today. I am definitely ready.” said an upbeat Grinwis.

Adam started 13 of Rochester’s matches this season and finished the regular season with a impressive .625 save percentage. He is a key member in the team’s locker room, and helps his team stay motivate as they look to defend their Championship from last season.

The Rhinos will take on the Charlotte Independence at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1 at Rochester Rhinos Stadium. The match is presented by KeyBank and will include playoff specials such as $2 drafts and a merchandise sale.
