Greece Supervisor Bill Reilich says the town is converting its street lighting to LED, which will reduce energy costs and save money for taxpayers according to the town.

Reilich says they’ll save on maintenance was well as being cheaper to run.

The town will convert 1,272 streetlights to LED technology along major arterial roads. That will include Ridge Road, Latta Road, Long Pond Road, Fetzner Road, Dewey Avenue, Stone Road, Mt. Read Blvd and Ling Road. 

The town has gotten a $150,000 grant to cover the conversion costs.
