On Monday, Governor Andrew Cuomo said he saw no reason why schools should not be fully open in the fall. On Tuesday, the Greece Central School District said in a news conference that they’re working to make that happen.
Greece Superintendent Kathleen Graupman said she agrees with the governor’s statement and the district is planning for a full return to five-day-a-week classroom learning in the fall. She says that includes all students, pre-K through 12th grade, every day.
Graupman, who also heads the Monroe County Council of School Superintendents, said they’d all like the state to provde guidance for reopening in September now, so that districts can make their plans and have time to communicate them to families over the summer.
Graupman believes all Monroe County districts are currently planning to go full-time classroom instruction in the fall.
