Greece Supervisor Bill Reilich says town residents will get a break on buying flood insurance because of a ruling from the National Flood Insurance Community Rating System. Reilich says the agency has reduced the town’s Class rating from 7 to 6.
That means Greece residents living in the FEMA Special Flood Hazard Area will get a 20 percent discount on flood insurance.
The town says that’s good news with the higher water levels on Lake Ontario and the general increase in flood insurance rates.
