Greece Police are warning about a recent series of carjackings involving armed suspects. Although this has been a county-wide problem, Greece police want people to be particularly aware in the evening or shortly after dark. They did not mention any specific incidents.
Police say the suspects use two basic methods of targeting their victims: one is to rear-end the victim’s car, then walk up to the victim and rob them at gunpoint when they get out of their car. Police advise you to call 911 and wait in the car with the doors locked for police to arrive, or head to a police station for help. The second method is to follow a victim to their destination, then rob them at gunpoint when they get out of their car. If you think you’re being followed, drive to a public place or police station and call 911 immediately.
