Greece Police say the discovery of a husband and wife dead at their home on Mt. Read Boulevard Wednesday morning is an apparent murder-suicide.
Chief Patrick Phelan said officers were sent to the house near the corner of Stone Road when the woman didn’t show up for work at the nursing home across the street. They found two people dead of gunshot wounds inside the house. They also recovered a handgun from the scene. Police say the victims were in their 70s.
Neighbors say they were going through a divorce.
Police shut down the intersection for their investigation. They say there is no danger to the public.
The names of the couple have not been officially released, but neighbors say they were George and Peggy Saint George.
