The Greece Town Board voted Thursday night to opt out of allowing marijuana dispensaries and salons in the town.
Under the new New York State Marijuana Regulation and Taxation act, towns are allowed to opt out of allowing retail dispensaries and consumption sites. Local governments have to act by December 31st if they want to opt out.
The town says in a statement it received only one comment in support of marijuana sales, and all other comments received were in favor of opting out.
