A Greece man has taken down a string of signs on his fence slamming the town’s building department, and he’s moving the fence back a few feet in a compromise with the town.
Bill Fouquet got into a fight with Town Hall when he bought his house on Hampton Boulevard. The house had a picket fence which looked rundown, so Fouquet replaced the pickets with new wood. He got cited for building without a permit.
Fouquet nailed a string of signs to his fence laying out his beef with the town. The town says the fence should never have been built where it is in the first place and the previous homeowner was supposed to remove it. They’ve compromised with Fouquet: he’ll move the fence back from the sidewalk and pay the permit fee, and everything will be square.
