The Town of Greece kept its emergency declaration in place today as people struggled to recover from the fourth round of flooding in recent weeks.

Officials say they kept the emergency declaration on because much of Edgemere Drive and other lakeshore roads are still under water. The town has 41 large pumps running trying to bring down the water and pump out flooded sewers.

Greece Supervisor Bill Reilich says he and about a dozen other town and village officials will be making the rounds in Washington soon, seeking any federal help they can get for their flooded home and business owners.

Officials in Irondequoit have called a public meeting tomorrow (Thursday) evening to talk about the high water levels on Lake Ontario and Irondequoit Bay.

It’s at 7:00 p.m. at the Point Pleasant Fire Department on Ewer Avenue. Assemblyman Joe Morelle says officials will share what they know so far about state aid for business and homeowners hit by the flooding.
