The Greece Town Board held a special meeting Wednesday evening … where it adopted a resolution to explore taking legal action against International Joint Commission over the shoreline flooding along Lake Ontario… and calling on Monroe County to do the same.

County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo said earlier Wednesday afternoon she’s already directed the county’s law department to do the same thing.

State officials toured flood-damaged neighborhoods in Greece and Irondequoit along with Supervisors Bill Reilich and Dave Seeley.

Homeowners who spoke with the state and local officials on Edgemere Drive in Greece say they were discussing possibly seeking state approval to set up a low interest loan fund to help homeowners pay for damage insurance won’t cover. They also talked about the state possibly helping pay to bring in barge loads of large boulders and drop them along the lakeshore to protect shoreline properties.
